Julian Assange's Wife Celebrates His Pending Release

Stella Moris Expresses Joy and Relief

Couple Still Facing Challenges Ahead

In a statement released on Tuesday, Stella Moris, the wife of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, expressed her elation at the news of her husband's pending release. Assange has been held in Belmarsh Prison in London since 2019, fighting extradition to the United States on espionage charges.

Moris described the past seven years, during which Assange was granted political asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, as a "dark period" for their family. She said that Assange's health had deteriorated during his time in prison and that he had been subjected to "torture and isolation."

Despite the challenges they have faced, Moris said that she and Assange remain committed to fighting for his freedom. She also expressed her gratitude to the supporters who have campaigned for his release.

"Today is a day of hope and joy," Moris said. "We are finally on the path to justice for Julian. But our fight is not over yet. We will continue to fight for Julian's complete freedom and for the protection of press freedom around the world."

Assange's release is expected to be a significant event for the media and human rights communities. He is a controversial figure, but his supporters maintain that he is a whistleblower who has exposed important truths about the U.S. government.
